Points of Pride
Hard work pays off for Haskayne in three major case competitions

As many of you know, January is the time when hard work pays off for our students, faculty, and alumni coaches involved in three major business competitions. Here are the impressive results of Haskayne’s placement all three competitions:

MBA Molson’s Cup: the Haskayne MBA team made it to the final 3! View their presentation here

ICBC Queens: the Haskayne Undergraduate Team, won 3 golds, 1 silver, and 1 placing at the Intercollegiate Business Competition, the oldest and longest running case competition in Canada.

JDC West: Held in Saskatoon this year, the Haskayne team brought home a 1st place and two 2nd place plaques.

Eric Termuende gives Keynote at Grad Day 2016

On January 30, 2016 recent and future grads participated in Grad Day 2016, a full day of personal and professional development crafted to help students and young alumni successfully transition to the next step. 

Eric, Co-Founder and Director of Gen Y Inc., gave the keynote address filled with words of wisdom. Eric is also a speaker for the National Speaker's Bureau and is traveling the country speaking about workplace culture and the next generation of work.

Alumni Spotlight
Grace Lui, RPP, BA, MURP, MBA

Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Brookfield Residential. Grace has utilized her extensive experience in planning and land development to contribute to government initiatives and serve on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Calgary Communities. She currently also teaches an MBA elective on the Fundamentals of Real Estate at Haskayne.

Faculty Update
Haskayne professor named new editor-in-chief of top business journal

The new editor-in-chief of one of the world’s top business journals says his new role gives him the unique opportunity to strengthen the voice of international business scholars at large.

The Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) has named Haskayne’s Alain Verbeke as its new editor-in-chief for 2017 to 2019.

Promoting Sustainable Performance
Are you leading a business in Alberta? We want to hear from you!

As part of the Promoting Sustainable Performance (PSP) program, The Haskayne School of Business is looking for your help to obtain information on the practices that small and medium-sized enterprises, those firms employing between 5 and 500 employees, are using across Alberta.

PSP is the first and largest program of its kind to be conducted on the challenges facing SMEs across Alberta. This program will capture essential knowledge to help raise the levels of productivity and performance of the Alberta economy, enabling it to compete successfully on a global scale.

Survey length: approximately 25 to 30 minutes

All answers will remain confidential. Information will be summarized at a group level for presentation or publication of results; no organizations shall be named.

Survey participants will gain access to a written report on the strategies that others are utilizing to achieve success and will be invited to localized workshops to explore the findings of the research.
