Oliver Nnamdi Okafor is a PhD candidate in accounting at the Haskayne School of Business. His research interests are in taxation, financial and sustainability reporting, and accounting education.

Prior to starting his PhD, Oliver had a progressive career in both the banking industry and in government, working for the Royal Bank of Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency. He is a Certified General Accountant of Canada (CGA), a Chartered Certified Accountant of United Kingdom (ACCA), and an accounting instructor at SAIT Polytechnic.

Oliver is a graduate of distinction from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu and holds an MBA in banking and finance from the University of Nigeria as well as an MBA in global energy management and sustainable development from the Haskayne School of Business. While completing his Haskayne MBA, Oliver received the Alberta Graduate Student Scholarship and the Alastair H. Ross Memorial Graduate Scholarship for academic excellence.
