Najlaa Kallousa is a PhD Candidate in the accounting area of the Haskayne School of Business. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration from Ain Shams University, a Postgraduate Diploma of Political Research & Studies from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and an MBA in Finance and Investment from the Graduate School of Business of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).

Najlaa’s experience includes working as a programme coordinator and teaching assistant in London School of Economics, University of London External Programme at the AASTMT. In addition, she taught other courses in both the undergraduate and MBA programs at the AASTMT. In 2011, Najlaa received a CGA Research Grant for her proposal entitled “Empirical Investigations of Earning Smoothness”.

Najlaa’s research interests include various topics of capital markets research in accounting. Her dissertation focuses on understanding the type of accounting standards that yields higher accounting quality. Najlaa is supervised by Dr. Hussein Warsame.
