Bio

Norm is a senior instructor in the Business and Environment Area. His responsibilities include the coordination of the first year business course, BSEN 291, which is a business survey course. His bachelor degree is in accounting and completed his MBA in 1993. He has taught at the University of Calgary since 1995.

Along with coordination of BSEN 291 Norm also teaches the course which focuses on all aspects of business. His research interests include: team building, gender issues in the workplace, and managerial decision-making. Norm is also active in the Academy of Management (Management Education Division) and has presented professional workshops at their conferences.

Norm is the lead author on one of Canada’s premier introduction to business textbook, “The Future of Business”, currently in its 2nd edition that has been adopted by 19 Universities and Colleges in Canada. The 3rd edition will be coming out in 2010.

Norm is very active on committees at the Haskayne School of Business. Including the Curriculum Review Committee, Appeals Committee, and is a board member of the Haskayne Alumni Board.
