Thanks to a collaboration between Haskayne School of Business students and the Information Technologies team, the campus community can now use a new live chat feature to speak with IT Support Centre (ITSC) agents Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends and stat holidays by visiting ucalgary.ca/it.

The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary has outdone itself by snagging a huge win on a global scale at the regional finals in Dubai at the 2017 HULT prize, the world’s largest and most prestigious social enterprise competition. The Haskayne team will travel to Washington, D.C. in September to compete for the grand prize of $1 million to pursue their enterprise.

The world’s foremost entrepreneurship study has been used to look at entrepreneurship at the University of Calgary. Led by The Centre for Innovation Studies (THECIS) and authored by University of Calgary professors Cooper Langford and Chad Saunders, this is the first time the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) methodology has been used to assess a post-secondary institution — finding a high level of innovation across campus.

In February, 13 graduate students from the university’s School of Public Policy, Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, and seven Master of Business Administration students from the Haskayne School of Business travelled to Israel for the Multi-Faces of Israel course offered by The School of Public Policy. The course was first launched in 2013 and to date almost 100 MPP and MBA students have participated in the program. The course is designed to broaden students’ policy perspective at the international level.
