Hui (Julia) Zhu

Julia Hui Zhu joined the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary in July 2009. She expects a PhD in Economics from Queen’s University in December 2009, and holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from North China Electric Power University.

Julia’s research focuses primarily on financial econometrics, in particular, forecasting firms’ earnings with the sequential release of their financial statements. The methodology addressed in this research has a direct and wide-open application in financial market updating. She is also interested in research on electrical energy management, especially on the potential economic concerns of integrating large-scale wind energy into an existing electrical grid.

Julia teaches International Finance at the 4th year undergraduate level.
