Dr. Janne Kettunen is an Assistant Professor jointly at the Haskayne School of Business, Operations Management and the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy where he teaches in the MBA program and Energy and Environmental Systems specialization, respectively. He has been involved in teaching at undergraduate, graduate, and executive programs since 2001 in various universities including London Business School, where he has guest lectured on electricity markets, real options, risk management, and carbon finance.
His research interests are focused on decision analytic methods to aid operations, capacity investment, and resource management decisions under uncertainty. In terms of application areas, his specialties are energy market and new product development. He has published in scholarly journals including The Energy Journal, Energy Policy, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and has served as a peer reviewer for academic journals, such as European Journal of Operations Research, The Energy Journal, IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, and Journal of Energy Markets. He is frequently presenting his work in international conferences in the fields of decision analysis and energy and natural resources.
Prior to engaging in the academic career, he has worked with companies and institutes including Nokia, The Board of Actuarials Standards (UK), Compagnie Financiere Tradition, and Institute of Strategy and International Business (Finland).
