Loren Falkenberg holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, and a MBA from Queen’s University. She taught at Queen’s and Concordia universities prior to teaching at the University of Calgary. She has been teaching business ethics and negotiations for over 20 years, and has developed teaching materials for these courses in the undergraduate, graduate and executive education programs. She has developed numerous executive negotiations programs for specific companies. Her particular research interests are in developing cases examining ethical and social responsibility issues in companies, and exploring the relationships between companies and not-for-profit organizations.
Some of the journals Loren has published in include the Journal of Business Ethics, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management and the California Management Review. As well, she has written a textbook, and published chapters in edited books. Loren has won six awards for best papers published in journals or presented at conferences.
As well she has consulted with different companies on corporate social responsibility programs and management of ethical issues. She has been a regular commentator on CBC on various issues in the Canadian business environment. She is currently an editor for the Journal of Business Ethics.
Loren teaches in the Directors Education Program and is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Calgary Meals on Wheels.
