Please note that as per the Faculty of Graduate Studies instructions, ALL applications must now be made online. On-line applications will be accepted from July 1, 2012.

You must comply with the instructions for submission of the reference forms to the SEDV program office. The following is a list of the paperwork you will have to send in hard copy as part of your application:

• Degree transcript (2 original copies - no photocopies). Transcripts must be submitted from all post-secondary institutions attended regardless of whether the degree was awarded. Degree certificates must be provided from those institutions that do not include the awarding of a degree on the transcript. To be considered official, all academic records must be received in envelopes that have been addressed to the SEDV office and have been sealed & endorsed by the issuing institution. If you have attended the University of Calgary please contact the SEDV office directly.
• One original TOEFL or IELTS certificate (no photocopies)
• A detailed resume (which must include a detailed work experience history)
• Letter of intent outlining background, research interest and goal for the program
• 2 references, preferably both academic (if you have not studied in the last 5 years, professional letters of reference will be accepted). References must be sent directly by the referee to the SEDV office. Letters from friends, family members, colleagues, people currently registered in a graduate degree program, or general reference letters that are not written specifically in support of the persons application to this program are not acceptable.

* Reference letters and all other supporting documents should be in English (translated if necessary). Also your application cannot be processed , and a final decision made, until we have received all the above paperwork.  

Please note: All transcripts, references, test scores and other documents become the property of the University of Calgary and will not be copied or returned to the applicant, nor will copies be sent to any other institution.
