Risk Management and Insurance

Risk management and insurance are interdisciplinary fields that draw theory and methodologies from a number of founding disciplines, including economics, law, psychology, and statistics. The Haskayne School of Business  faculty members in the area of risk management and insurance have interest and expertise in a wide range of topics including:

  • Enterprise risk management
  • Disaster resilience
  • Catastrophe bonds development and application
  • Distribution systems in insurance
  • Tort versus no-fault liability systems
  • Public policy issues surrounding pensions and retirement
  • Competitiveness and efficiency of the insurance industry
  • Solvency of insurance companies
