Common and Muti-Section Course Projects

Application

One application can be submitted for all the students who are gathering data using a similar methodology. The instructor must submit a class list or list of students who will be completing the project. See the description of a course project for the type of information that should be included in the application and the steps for applying for approval of a course project.

Multi-course projects

If the data collection project will be completed in a multiple section course then one application for ethics approval can be submitted. The approval will cover all sections of the course. However each instructor is responsible for ensuring the steps outlined in the application are followed. Each instructor must submit a class list and the signed Code of Conducts for their section.

Ethics approval for a given class project can be given for three years as long as there are no changes to the project or data collection process during the three year period. Every semester information on the instructor for each section of the course, class lists and signed Codes of Conduct must be turned into Lynn Sales.
