Leonard Waverman, Dean of the Haskayne School of Business, was cited as one of the world’s top 50 most influential thought leaders in the telecommunications industry, is on the academic advisory board of Columbia University’s Centre for Tele-Information and is a Fellow of the University of California at Berkeley’s Fisher IT Centre.

Jeffrey Church, Professor of Economics and to be co-appointed with Haskayne is a recognized authority in telecommunications and antitrust.

Andrew Wilkins joined the Centre for the Digital Economy in October 2011. He holds a MA (Economics) and BA First Class Honours (Economics) from the University of Calgary. Prior to joining the Centre, Andrew was a Competition Law Officer at the Competition Bureau and has held positions at the National Energy Board and Integrated Environments Ltd. (working in conjunction with the Canadian Energy Research Institute). Andrew's research interests include telecommunications, industrial organization, competition policy, and energy economics.

Maria Gubaydullina has a M.A. in Economics from Queen’s University and a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from University of Calgary. Maria joined the University of Calgary in October 2011 as a Junior Research Associate at the Centre for the Digital Economy (CDE@). In addition to her education in Economics, she has received extensive mathematical training from Lomonosov Moscow State University. She speaks English and Russian fluently and also has intermediate knowledge of German and beginner’s level in French.
