GEMBA Computing

The Global Energy Executive MBA is a rigorous program designed to accelerate the leadership and management capabilities of high potential energy industry professionals. The services offered at the Haskayne School of Business and the University of Calgary will aid in your course work.

Laptop

A laptop is required for the GEMBA program.  Recommended laptop configurations for the GEMBA program are provided in this document.

UCIT Computing Account

Ensure that you have registered for a UCIT Account ( http://www.ucalgary.ca/it/access/itaccount). A UC IT computing account will give you access to various services such as UofC email, AirUC, D2L, and  IT Computer Labs.

eID and My UofC Portal

Ensure that you have registered for an eID ( https://acctman.ucalgary.ca/register/ ). An eID is used to sign-on to the My UofC Portal. My UofC Portal is a one-stop access for various online services at the UofC. Some of these services include: PeopleSoft Student Center, D2L, Office365, and Degree Navigator.

Scurfield Hall RGO Room (SH465)

Your classroom is located in SH465. A Xerox WorkCentre multi-function printer is also available in the room.  Power outlets are provided at all the tables.  Network access is wireless only.

Microsoft Office Software

Students receive an Office 365 license and access to the Microsoft Office programs.

Computer Security

DO NOT leave your computer or other personal items unattended. Remember to back up your data, in case anything happens to your computer (hardware ,virus, theft, etc.).

Emergency Communications

Communication in an emergency situation may come to the University through a variety of resources.  The UC Emergency app is recommended.

Working Alone

The UofC has implemented a Working Alone System to enhance the personal safety of students when they are working alone.  To find out more:
