ITS Technical Assistant
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting ITS with day-to-day desktop support for the academic, administrative, and instructional use of microcomputers (both PC & MAC) in the Haskayne School of Business;
- Resolving hardware and software issues related to the HSB environment, desktops, laptops, printers, etc;
- Supporting the deployment of faculty and administration computer equipment, including peripherals and lab maintenance duties;
- Preparing and editing documentation as per instructions;
- Configuring, installing, and upgrading software and hardware as required;
- Delivering equipment to and from the repair store and Campus IT;
- Assisting in inventory changes made to the HSB environment;
- Providing effective and timely communication of project status, process and technical issues to your team and your team leaders.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- available time weekdays and occasional Saturdays to assist ITS, working shifts of 3 hours or more;
- excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus;
- the ability to be a cohesive and complementary team member, demonstrating a high level of cooperation;
- strong problem solving skills and the ability to quickly understand new processes and related issues;
- experience in managing multiple priorities;
- a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
Requirements:
- Must be a current University of Calgary student.
Position starts:
- Negotiable. More than 1 position may be filled at any time.
Hours:
- part-time, flexible hours, dependent on the applicant,
- may be fulltime hours for the summer term and part-time hours during the school year,
- NOT an internship position.

Executive MBA Technical Assistant
Job Description:
As a part of the EMBA support team the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the EMBA Program. The position requires considerable interpersonal skills backed by a strong technical background. A willingness to learn new tools and technologies is a must. Duties include (but not limited to):
- Provide laptop software support for EMBA students, faculty, and staff (PC & Mac)
- Oversee the creation of lecture recordings into digital medium
- Maintain accurate student engagement records in SharePoint
- Assist professors with presentation materials (DVD, VHS, PowerPoint, etc)
- Assist professors with examinations
- Provide printing support for faculty and students
- Manage and maintain student mailing lists
Required Skills:
- MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac OS X
- Experience installing and upgrading computer software
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
- Demonstrated time-management skills
- Strong problem solving skills

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a current University of Calgary student (preferably with IT background)
- Available on Fridays and Saturdays during the school year. Opportunity to work full-time during summer term. Hours are flexible depending on the candidate’s schedule.
