Haskayne Alumni Sana Khan: ACGC Top 30 Under 30 Making a Global Difference

The Alberta Council for Global Cooperation’s fifth annual Top 30 Under 30 features young adults from Alberta and the Global South who are making a difference in the world.

Sana Khan (BCOMM’2014), was awarded for her dedicated work and involvement with various organizations including Global Vision, LaunchGood LLC, and the United Nations Office of the Under-Secretary General for Management. She has travelled to Chongqing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, China to promote Canada-China relations and bilateral trade.

Making Calgary accessible for all

Nabeel Ramji (BCOMM’2008) told UMagazine back in 2006 that he wanted to be remembered for the legacy he leaves behind, not his wheelchair. Now he’s doing just that through his advocacy for making Calgary accessible.

2014 winner of a Premier’s Choice Award, Strategic Group’s Portfolio Analyst and lead on the Accessibility for All Albertans initiative, Nabeel accompanied 10 able-bodied individuals as they took on disability for a day on December 3, 2015.

Boardwalk CEO receives 2016 Distinguished Business Leader Award

Haskayne and the Calgary Chamber will present real estate leader Sam Kolias (BSc’83) with the 2016 Distinguished Business Leader Award.

Kolias started Boardwalk Real Estate Investment Trust with his brother and one apartment building in Calgary. Since then, their company has grown into one of the biggest real estate investment trusts in the country.

One day in late January, Haskayne professor Mohammad Keyhani woke up to find out he was Internet famous.

A ZEEF webpage called Entrepreneur Tools he had created for students in his Entrepreneurship and Innovation 381 course was suddenly getting thousands of page views a day.

As part of the Promoting Sustainable Performance (PSP) program, The Haskayne School of Business is looking for your help to obtain information on the practices that small and medium-sized enterprises, those firms employing between 5 and 500 employees, are using across Alberta.

PSP is the first and largest program of its kind to be conducted on the challenges facing SMEs across Alberta. This program will capture essential knowledge to help raise the levels of productivity and performance of the Alberta economy, enabling it to compete successfully on a global scale.

Survey length: approximately 25 to 30 minutes
