RBC Fast Pitch Competition
The RBC Fast Pitch Competition is a longstanding tradition at the Haskayne School of Business. Over 1100 students across 17 lectures of Entrepreneurial Thinking 201 and 317 have worked in collaborative teams to identify compelling problems to solve, to work towards innovative solutions to those problems, and to develop a business model that could make those solutions feasible and impactful.
2026 RBC Fast Pitch Competition
Every April we bring the top 24 student teams to the semi-final round of the RBC Fast Pitch Competition. This year we had 197 students apply to the competition and we welcomed 77 to the semi-final round. From the semi-finals, the top six teams competed for over $20,000 in cash prizes.
Semi-finals
24 teams presented their 1-minute pitches live to different advisors from the Haskayne Entrepreneurial Advising Team and answered follow-up questions.
Pitch refinement
The 6 finalist teams were assigned a Haskayne Entrepreneurial Advising Team member to help them tighten their pitch before presenting to the judges.
Finals
The 6 qualifying teams pitched for 1 minute on the stage, then answered follow-up questions from the judges.
Keynote by Tamara Jarrett
Tamara Jarrett, BSc'14, co-founder and chief operating officer of Elements Athletics led the audience through her journey at the intersection of sport and entrepreneurship.

1st Place: Gardening Angels
A community-based platform that connects people interested in gardening with homeowners who have unused outdoor space. The business aims to make gardening more accessible while transforming underused land into productive gardens and fostering stronger connections within communities.

2nd Place: First Glance AR
An augmented reality tool designed for lash technicians and their clients, allowing customers to preview different eyelash styles on their eyes before committing to a service or purchase. The platform aims to improve consultations, increase client confidence and help technicians deliver more personalized results.

3rd Place: LumiShield
An automated disinfection solution that uses far-UVC light to continuously sanitize healthcare and clinical environments. The technology is designed to reduce the risk of infection, support safer spaces for patients and staff, and lessen the burden of manual disinfection processes.
