Jennifer Krahn

Dr. Jenny Krahn is an Assistant Professor (Project Management) in the Operations Management area.  She holds a Ph.D. in Project Management, with focus on project leadership and project manager skills, from the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Krahn has presented her work at conferences in Europe, the United States, and Canada to academic and practitioner audiences.  She has presented keynote, invited, and paper presentations on topics ranging from Future Trends in Project Management to Leadership on Projects.  Recently, she was an invited visiting lecturer at the Vienna School of Economics and Business Administration.   

Dr. Krahn began teaching in the business school in 2004; she teaches project management and related courses for undergraduate management students as well as graduate engineering and management students.  She is also a member of Advisory Councils in the Faculty of Science and Schulich School of Engineering and, formerly, to a project in Community Medicine.

When she began in academics, Jenny worked with BearingPoint Consulting.  She enjoys working with project management professionals in all industries to make projects more successful.  Dr. Krahn's area of research interest is leadership in project management and related topics such as team and project alignment and project manager effectiveness.  

Jenny recently won a University of Calgary peer-nominated award, titled U Make a Difference, for her contributions at the university and was named one of Calgary's Top 40 Under 40 by CalgaryInc. Magazine in 2008.  She volunteers with a range of community organizations in Calgary.
