The Truth about Finance Revealed

What it takes to be a Woman in Finance

On Jan 28, the Haskayne Career Centre and the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership in Business (CCAL) hosted the second annual ‘Women in Finance’ event to connect, inspire and encourage women pursuing a career in the financial industry. The insightful and authentic contributions made by the five panel speakers made the event a great success.

Tracy Do, a third year finance student at the Haskayne School of Business felt skeptical about the event at first. After hearing what the panel speakers had to say about their lives, experiences and struggles, she wiped any skepticism aside.

“It was simply empowering to us women; hearing about their success and failures. The tips and advice from industry professionals really motivated me to strive for what I'm passionate for. Incredibly inspiring is the only way I can put it. I encourage Haskayne students to attend events like this because it's a free, valuable and open invitation with lots of networking opportunities,” said Do.

The experiences shared by panel speakers were simply outstanding. Many motivating and awe inspiring moments caused the audience to hang on to every word of their story. It was certainly a memorable night and the audience would agree. Check out the full story here. Events such as these only come around every so often, so be sure to attend the next one!
