The Co-operative Education Program:
Is a cost-effective solution for short-term projects and business cycle peaks
Boosts corporate presence on campus
Develops a long-term sustainable recruitment strategy, as you can fill full-time roles with past Co-op students
Students are pre-screened and go through a competitive application process
Contributes to the development of the future work force
Supports continuous learning
Offer productive paid work to help students build on the skills learned in school
Has an office environment with four or more co-workers
There must be a supervisor to provide the student with guidance, opportunities to meet their learning objectives, and conduct a performance evaluation (form to be provided)
A guaranteed minimum of a 35 hour work/week
Work terms to coincide with school semesters which starts in January, May, and September for a minimum of 13 weeks employment
Contact the Career Centre if you have any questions and/or concerns – a Career Advisor is available for support to ensure a successful work-term for all parties.
Discuss goals and performance expectations with the Co-op student
Provide ongoing feedback and mentoring to the Co-op student and complete a final performance evaluation
Be available for check-ins via phone or in-person site visits
Note: The Co-op program is a course for which students obtain a grade of "CR" (completed requirements) or a grade of "F" (fail) based on a satisfactory work performance, performance evaluation and a passing grade for their work-term report.

Once approved, the Co-op position is to be posted on the Haskayne School of Business "CareerLink," at no cost. Positions can be posted throughout the year.
