Logos
Beyond our bold, modern typeface, you will note an interesting design detail on the “H” of Haskayne. The pinnacle isn’t just intended for stronger visual impact – it’s deliberate and tells a bigger story. The “H” illustrates the transformation of a lowercase “h” into an uppercase one, reflecting growth, mentorship and the connection between today and the future.
Lock-up: Haskayne and UCalgary
When using the Haskayne logo, ensure the UCalgary logo is present or use the logo lockup. Both logos will be present on items including: business cards and letterhead, news releases, donor proposals, community report, the Haskayne website, advertising, events and recruitment tables.
Haskayne School of Business logo
When using the HSB logo, please ensure there is a UCalgary logo present somewhere. For example, there may be an HSB logo at the top of a banner and the UCalgary logo could sit at the bottom of the banner. When the space is limited such as swag, the HSB logo alone is permitted. If you have questions on logo usage, please contact us.
Using the logo
Clear space
A minimum clear-space rule ensures the logo has clear visibility in application and to ensure the logo doesn’t get cropped in print.
The clear space around the logo is equal to the width of the letter H. Aligning partner logos should follow the clear-space rule, in this case using the width of the H.
Minimum size
The minimum width of the Haskayne logo is 1.25 inches for print media and 175 pixels for digital applications.
The minimum width of the Haskayne only logo on its own is 0.75 inches for print media and 72 pixels for digital applications. Anything smaller will degrade the typography in most printing scenarios.

H monogram
The Haskayne H was designed as a stand-alone monogram for specific usage. Social media profile icons and conference thumbnails tend to be small square or circles that are not suitable for the Haskayne logo, in these cases the H monogram may be used. Other usage includes where the full Haskayne name is not necessary and a bold graphic can help make a statement and create brand recognition:
- social media profile thumbnail
- conference thumbnails
- clothing or merchandise - this should be designed and ordered by the Haskayne MarCom team only
Note: the monogram should never appear in an application that has the Haskayne logo to avoid duplication.
