Bloomberg for Students
Bloomberg has developed ways to help you gain the all-important experience of the Bloomberg Terminal that will help set you apart for potential employers.
The Bloomberg Terminal has been a main stay for financial institutions data management for many years. It has one of the richest data sets on the market. While the software does have a fairly steep learning curve, once mastered it is very powerful.
Haskayne currently has 12 Bloomberg terminals in the Lab, which students can access. The Bloomberg machines are identified by their distinctive keyboards. The keyboards are expensive, treat them with care.
Getting Started
To logon to the Bloomberg terminal click on the Bloomberg icon. You will see a screen that looks like this.
Press the <Enter> or <Go> key to see the logon screen.
If you have a userid and password enter that information and press Login. If you do not have a userid press Create a New Login and you will see this screen. Answer the two questions and click Next and you will see the login information screen. Compete the information and click Next.
When you have logged on you will see this first screen. New users should click on the green Help tab to review Bloomberg's documentation and suggestions for getting started with the terminal.
Bloomberg Certification (BMC)

With modules on Economics, Fixed Income, Equities, Currencies and using the Bloomberg Terminal, BMC will help you emerge with an edge."
BMC can be a very useful addition to your resume. The course is available on the Bloomberg Terminals in the Lab.
