About Digital Innovation Challenge

Steve Wilson

About the Digital Innovation Challenge

The Steve and Tina Wilson Family Foundation made a generous gift to the University of Calgary in 2022 to support student skill development and digital innovation programs. With the funding, we have launched the Digital Innovation Challenge and March 2023 marked the first time the competition ran on a global level. The Challenge is aimed to create a space where students can develop data systems for good or gain insights from analytics to develop a strategy to better an organization. Anyone can add up numbers, but how do you organize or pull together data and turn it into information that provides insights? How do you use data to develop strong strategies that remove the gaps in performance within and across organizations?
