Dr. Marius Zoican, PhD
Dr. Marius Zoican, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Finance and Canada Research Chair in Financial Technology at Haskayne. His research explores how digital trading, AI and decentralized finance are reshaping markets and investor behaviour. He is also developing Canada’s first neurofinance lab.
Dr. Alfred Lehar, PhD
Dr. Alfred Lehar, PhD, is a Professor of Finance at Haskayne and academic director of its DeFi Lab. His research focuses on fintech, blockchain, financial stability and corporate finance, with current work examining how decentralized finance is changing markets and the broader financial system.
Dr. Kyoung Jin Choi, PhD
Dr. Kyoung Jin (KJ) Choi, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Finance at Haskayne and an expert in fintech, blockchain and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). His research explores cryptocurrency markets, decentralized finance and the potential impact of digital currencies on the financial system.
Dr. Ari Pandes, PhD
Dr. J. Ari Pandes, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Finance at Haskayne and Associate Dean (Graduate). His research focuses on corporate finance, securities offerings and investment banking, with a particular interest in Canadian capital markets, financing decisions and the role of financial intermediaries.

You have the choice to choose between a Professional Internship in Finance (INTE616) or a Research Consulting Project in Finance (INTE617).

Research consulting project
Tackle a real-world finance problem through an applied research project. Use your analytical skills to deliver insights with practical impact and showcase your ability to translate theory into action.
Does the MFin prepare me for further graduate studies?
Yes. Graduates gain the theory, econometrics and research exposure that provide a solid base for a PhD (with appropriate research interests and preparation).
Does the MFin prepare me for the CFA designation?
Yes. Students are thoroughly prepared to tackle all three CFA exam levels.
