Haskayne School of Business Professional Development Support

Haskayne is a place for transformative change – where our students come for major and meaningful career and personal development. Recognizing the pivotal role we play in providing an environment for change, we are equally committed to ensuring our professional staff have opportunities to flourish and grow.

We acknowledge that professional development is essential to advancing the Haskayne School of Business Strategic Plan and aligning our work with the University’s Ahead of Tomorrow Strategic Plan.

The purpose of this program is to provide MaPS and AUPE Staff at Haskayne with access to professional development opportunities beyond those available through the University’s Employee Tuition Support program.

These Professional Development Guidelines are intended to supplement existing supports and provide funding in a consistent and equitable manner. Eligible activities may include conferences, workshops, online courses, and other learning opportunities designed to enhance skills, build knowledge, and expand professional networks, all while contributing to the advancement of Haskayne’s Strategic Plan priorities and objectives.

Eligibility

AUPE or MaPS employees

MaPS and AUPE with regular, limited or fixed term appointments who have completed six (6) months of continuous service in a benefit eligible position may apply.

Non-UCalgary courses

Applicants seeking support for professional development activities outside of the University’s Employee Tuition Support program must demonstrate how the opportunity will benefit them in their current role and provide future value to Haskayne by advancing Strategic Plan priorities.

UCalgary courses

Employees wishing to take a course at the University of Calgary should first consider if the Employee Tuition Support program can be applied.
