International Business Consulting

SGMA 589

Work with real companies on international consulting projects

SGMA 589 creates a capstone international business experience, in which students form into consulting teams to work on live client projects. It presents a unique professional opportunity, in which you actively manage your project, collaboratively specify the project’s objectives, develop research, analytical, consulting, and presentation skills, and meaningfully utilize concepts and methodologies you have learned in other business courses.

  • Unparalleled hands-on learning experience
  • Valuable professional development and networking opportunities
  • Course is designed and delivered under close mentorship of Haskayne faculty
  • 3 units of course credit (SGMA 589)

SGMA 589 is intense and challenging. It is designed for undergraduate students with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in situations of real-world complexity and ambiguity.

During past semesters, student teams conducted detailed market research and developed entry recommendations for client firm expansion into select countries such as the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Japan, and the U.A.E.
