MSc in Sustainable Energy Development

Where bold thinking energizes change

Founded in 1996, the University of Calgary’s Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) is an interdisciplinary graduate program established though a multi-faculty collaboration. With its home in the School of Public Policy, students benefit from the teaching and expertise of faculty members from the Haskayne School of Business, Schulich School of Engineering, School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Law to offer a holistic approach to sustainable energy education. Tailored for both professionals and students, SEDV provides a comprehensive understanding of sustainable energy, equipping graduates with the skills to manage projects and operations effectively, all while minimizing environmental impact and maximizing socio-economic benefits.

I joined the SEDV program to shift into sustainability and energy, and it was exactly what I needed. The interdisciplinary focus and expert support built a strong foundation. Now working in ESG consulting, I know this program was key to getting here. No matter your background, it can launch your energy career.
