Many Master of Management students are seeking to build upon their specialized skills and successfully launch their careers. Our dedicated Career Development Centre supports students through the career development cycle from building awareness of strengths to development needs and preferences.
Catalyst
Haskayne Master of Management students have the opportunity to participate in Catalyst – a unique career development program embedded in to the Master of Management curriculum.
Catalyst provides Master of Management students with a dedicated Career Coach who will help you:
- Define your career goals
- Develop a plan to achieve your career goals
- Expose you to new opportunities and career paths
- Provide resumé and cover letter advice and guidance
- Informational, behavioural and case interview preparation
- Job search support
Throughout the program interactive workshops will help you develop your personal brand and value proposition, helping you to stand out to employers. Personalized feedback on your career development assignments will keep you on track to achieving your career goals and will help to ensure you are well-equipped to successfully begin your job search.
Catalyst also provides you with the opportunity to take part in experiential learning activities that will expose you to new and unique industries and career paths. You’ll also begin to build your network of contacts, practice and hone your business communication skills and develop an understanding of professional workplace expectations. Past experiential learning activities have included:
- Workplace tours at companies like Benevity, CP Rail, WestJet, the Banff Springs, William Joseph, and the City of Calgary
- Professional speakers and panel discussions
- Informational interviews
- “Day in the life of” business roles
