Pacific Venture Capital Conference (March 2017)
PVCC is an international competition and conference designed for two types of students: ones with entrepreneurial ideas, and ones with a passion for start-up valuations. The competition is a stage for undergraduate and MBA students to present business ideas and financial valuations to an audience of entrepreneurial leaders, senior venture capitalists, and top industry professionals from across North America. With mentorship support, a cash prize pool of $5,000, and feedback from experienced professionals, PVCC provides a platform for students to develop and unlock their true potential.
Canada's Business Model Competition (March 2017)
The CBMC is not a business plan competition. Participants won’t be rewarded for doing lots of library research, drawing fancy graphs, or crafting the perfect sales pitch to venture capitalists. Instead the CBMC rewards students for breaking down their idea into the key business model hypotheses, getting outside the building and testing their assumptions with customers, applying Customer Development / Lean Startup principles to make sure they nail the solution, and learning to pivot (or change) until they have a customer-validated business model.
TEC Venture Prize (April 2017)
This comprehensive competition covers 4 different streams and provides a list of benefits to participants that includes business training, mentorship, and the opportunity to win cash and in-kind services to take their companies to the next level.
