Career & Student Experience Team
Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Specialist
Our WIL Specialists are the primary points of contact for students participating in work-integrated learning (WIL) programs at Haskayne, including co-ops, internships, and practicums. They support students through every stage of their WIL journey, from admissions and course enrollment to placement tracking and program completion. They provide guidance on application processes, program requirements, and workplace readiness, while also coordinating behind-the-scene logistics to ensure a smooth and consistent experience.
The WIL Specialists also develop program materials for WIL courses and collaborate with internal teams and faculty to ensure programming aligns with student needs and academic objectives. While not employer-facing, they work closely with the Employer Relations team to ensure student placements meet program standards. This role plays a vital part in helping students gain meaningful, real-world experience through structured, supported learning opportunities.
Career Development Specialist
Career Development Specialists are the primary advisors supporting Haskayne students in building career readiness and navigating their professional journeys. In addition to offering core services such as resume and cover letter support, interview preparation, and job search strategies, they also help students develop essential professional skills, including business etiquette, communication, and self-assessment.
These specialists lead targeted workshops, provide advising sessions, and collaborate with faculty and campus partners to deliver programming that aligns with both industry expectations and student needs. They also analyze employment outcomes, monitor engagement, and use data to guide continuous program improvement.
As part of the Career and Student Experience team within Student Services, Career Development Specialists ensure students are equipped with the tools and confidence to succeed in work-integrated learning experiences, career transitions, and long-term career planning.
Employer Relations Specialist
The Employer Relations Specialists build and maintain strategic partnerships with employers and community organizations to create high-quality work-integrated learning (WIL) and career opportunities for Haskayne students. They focus on developing co-op and internship placements, capstone projects, and post-graduation employment pathways that align with both industry needs and Haskayne’s academic goals. In addition to managing employer relationships, the Employer Relations Specialists track labour market trends, support program reporting and metrics, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance experiential learning offerings. They are key points of contact for employers and faculty looking to engage students in real-world learning experiences.
Student Experience Advisor
The Student Experience Advisor is a key point of contact for students seeking involvement opportunities and is instrumental in delivering high-impact programming that bridges academic and professional experiences. This role leads the coordination of student clubs, orientations, convocations, case competitions, and student-led initiatives, creating opportunities for leadership, connection, and growth. By supporting leadership development and fostering a strong sense of community, the Student Experience Advisor plays a critical role in shaping a vibrant and inclusive student culture at Haskayne.
Faculty Liaison Coordinator
The Faculty Liaison Coordinator serves as the key connector between faculty and the Employer Relations team, ensuring that industry partnerships, such as capstone projects and classroom collaborations, align with academic goals. This role supports faculty in integrating real-world experiences into the curriculum by coordinating project logistics, aligning stakeholder needs, and maintaining quality standards. By fostering collaboration across teams and supporting program delivery, the Faculty Liaison Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing experiential learning at Haskayne.
