Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM)

BComm Concentrations

Why Choose Operations and Supply Chain Management?

Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) is at the core of how organizations function. Whether in manufacturing, healthcare, retail, energy, or the service sector, every business relies on efficient, resilient operations to deliver value to customers. By studying OSCM, students gain the skills to improve productivity, reduce costs, ensure quality, and strengthen customer satisfaction—critical drivers of long-term success.

In today’s global economy, supply chains stretch across countries and continents. This concentration helps students navigate the complexities of logistics, sourcing, production planning, and supplier relationships. Students learn how to optimize both internal operations and global supply networks, while also exploring urgent issues like sustainability, digital transformation, and ethical sourcing.

The OSCM curriculum combines analytical tools with hands-on experience and offers flexibility to explore complementary areas like data analytics, business strategy, and project management. Graduates are well-prepared for high-impact roles across a range of industries.

Students declaring a concentration must complete six required courses. Please consult the University of Calgary Calendar for full course descriptions and prerequisites.

OSCM professionals design, manage, and improve the systems that produce goods and services. They help organizations run more efficiently, adapt to change, and manage risk across their operations and supply chains.
