Important RECA Exam Update
The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) is updating the competency exam requirements for Fundamentals of Condominium Management (FCM) and Practice of Condominium Management (PCM) effective January 1, 2027, following legislative changes introduced through the Service Alberta Statutes Amendment Act (Bill 30).
What this means for learners
Your enrollment date determines which RECA exam requirements apply to you:
If you are enrolled before January 1, 2027:
You will be assessed using the current FCM or PCM competency exam content and requirements. The course content you receive will not include the legislative changes reflected in Service Alberta Statutes Amendment Act (Bill 30). If you plan to write your exam after January 1, 2027, additional preparation may therefore be required. REDI Canada will provide additional resources to support your preparation for the updated requirements, including a quick-reference study guide. Where applicable, extended course access may also be available to support your preparation.
If you enroll on or after January 1, 2027:
You will be assessed using the updated 2027 FCM or PCM competency exam content and requirements, and your course will incorporate the legislative changes.
If you are unsure when you will write your exam or would like to discuss your options, please contact us or book an appointment with a Program Advisor.
