Barnabe honoured by Canadian Rheumatology Association
The 2014 Canadian Rheumatology Association/Arthritis Research Foundation Epidemiology/Health Services Research Award was presented to Dr. Cheryl Barnabe for her presentation: Investigating Access to Arthritis Health Services for Aboriginal People: A Framework for System Reform. The presentation summarized results from studies supported by CIORA and AIHS to investigate barriers and facilitators to arthritis care for Alberta’s Aboriginal population.
Dr. Barnabe was also recognized with the Canadian Rheumatology Association Young Investigator Award for 2014. This honour recognizes her significant contributions in epidemiology and health services research in rheumatic diseases, particularly in addressing disparities in access to care for the Aboriginal population, and in a new diagnostic imaging outcome tool in rheumatoid arthritis.
