2026 Westman Centre Real Estate Case Competition

All UCalgary students are welcome to compete and have a chance to win a real estate-focused student experience trip to a North American destination in Spring 2026.
What is a real estate case competition?
In this competition, you will be placed in a team of 5 students with diverse skill sets. Together, you’ll analyze a real estate site to determine its highest and best use. Your team will create a comprehensive proposal, including site planning, financial analysis, market research and project vision. The final step will be pitching your recommendations to a panel of senior real estate industry professionals. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real estate development while building relationships with key industry leaders and your peers.
Case competition host and co-presenter
This competition is hosted by the Westman Centre for Real Estate Studies and co-presented by Brookfield Residential. This is a great learning opportunity for students to showcase their talents to a diversified panel of community leaders and senior real estate industry representatives.
